"Privilege-Reality" Justice is not the same for all, and don't you be forgetting that, hear?

Privilege-Reality
Is there more meaning in what wasn't said?
Not to mention any names, but If democracy were an important
consideration in our hero's psyche, he would have said, "the job's
yours, Al, you got half a million more votes."
If concern for his
fellow man was an issue, as regards the National Guard, he would have
said, "I can't take that billet, because some other poor sap will loseMoney wouldn't have anything to do with this, or would it?
that billet and might wind up dead in Vietnam." If concern for
wasteful spending of government money was an issue, instead of accepting
flight training, he would have said, "don't waste that training time
and money on me, give the training in those combat planes to someone
who might actually get near a war." If respect for individual effort
was a concern, Harvard and Yale would have been disappointed because he
would have said, "I can't enter your schools, because someone less
fortunate, who has worked hard to get there will be denied the
opportunity." If he had any respect for these institutions of higher
learning, he would have said, "do you realize that the whole world may
find out that I have degrees from these institutions and will judge the
quality of your educations accordingly?" If courage and patriotism
were a part of his psyche, he would have said, "yessir, I'd like to
volunteer for Vietnam." If honor, loyalty, or dedication to country
were part of his psyche, he would have been in Alabama in 1972 and said,
"reporting for duty, sir." If appreciation for the time and money
invested in F-102 flight training were a concern, he would have said,
"reporting for the physical and drug test, sir." If appearances
of improprietary were a consideration, he would have said to his Texas
Rangers partners, "I can't accept these extra ten millions of dollars,
This is an oil drilling platform, but our hero couldn't find any oil.I'm only a 1% partner." If honesty and fair play were part of his psyche,
he would have told Harken Energy, "I can't accept all this money and
stock, because this Spectrum 7 business is losing big money." If he had
an iota of respect for other's hard work, when the Kuwaitis offered the
offshore drilling contract, he would have said, "a job like that
requires an experienced company with existing local operations." If he
cared a minimal ammount about average Americans, he would have said, "I
want you all to know, as I embark on running this country like aEverything is OK in Afghanistan now, because one of these is in the contract.
corporation, that I've demonstrated vast expertise at running
corporations in the red." If he had even an average concern for human
life, as the Texas executioner, he would not have had to paraphrase
Karla Tucker (deceased) with the sick words he said, "ha, ha, ha, please
He must make them proud, don't you think?don't kill me." Speaking of what he did say, can you imagine the great
pride Harvard and Yale must feel when our hero speaks. There are volumes
written on this subject. Usually referred to as "bushisms", or "bushits,"
or just gramattically challenged speaking of the language. I don't want
to go there, because this essay is about what wasn't said, as an object
lesson with alternative interpretations. Don't you think?
