Oil, money, CIASometimes there is a common thread.

Good work if you can get it
Sort of what's goin' on in Iraq. At one time we did a lot of the
oil exploration and development work in Libya. The CIA may have been

may have been involved. Iraq has about 25% of the world's proven oil
reserves. If these huge reserves are tapped and produced, the world
price of crude drops, especially in Texas. That leads the question, "Do
we want lower crude prices in Texas?" Ask a Texan. The answer, however,
is obvious. Keep those oil wells in Iraq shut down. You probably think
we want to steal Iraq's oil reserves so we can lower the price of oil.
That would make you stupid, but about to get edumication.
Would Iraq hire USA companies to develop these huge resources. Not
likely, after we've prevented them from producing for the last ten years.
If that represents 25% of the world's oil reserves, that represents 25%
This is about construction dollars, and a valve that you can turn it on and off with.of the world's exploration, development, and distribution dollars. The
steady hand of Bechtel, Brown and Root, and Haliburton usually do these
projects around the world. Saddam is likely to suggest to these groups
that they might take a flying leap from a rolling doughnut. Nothing
personal, mind you, likely intuitive reaction. He can get the message
to all three just by a note to the all-electric Dick Cheney, recent head
of Haliburton, which just happens to own Bechtel and Brown and Root also.
His associations with persons named Bush and their close relations with
the CIA, and the CIA's special relationship with the oil industry, and/or
oil countries, does not imply in any way that these companies might be
tainted by said association. Saddam's subtle inuendo that they might all
go have intercourse with themselves could imply that future contracts as
per the development of Iraqi oil reserves will only follow administratrive
changes at a managerial level in Iraq. Bottom line, "we are not going
to make any money if this regime remains in Iraq, and since the whole
country is pissed because thousands of their children have died as a
result of the US embargo, we probably won't have the support of the next
three or four regimes either, so we are going to have to steal the whole
country." Just a corporate decision, mind you, to be followed by action
at the operational level. The CIA's specialty. The patriotic thing to
do, because that Saddam is crazy enough to overproduce if we turn him
loose and the oil price in Texas might drop to $10/barrel. That would be I think this is a church altar from Texas, but what the hell do I know?
huge disaster cutting pump prices to everybody and oil companies bottom
lines. They'll stop that.
These guys are good. They helped the Shah of Iran, Noriega, Saddam,
Osama, Pinochet, Somoza, Pol Pot, Sauds, Al Sabahs, and others equally
famous, and recoil from taking credit for these accomplishments. These
are the guys we'll be betting our energy future on. These guys will be
very rich. These guys will be even more powerful. Who the hell are
these guys? It's us, the USA, you and I. We can fire them. We must
fire them. Vote. If you're confused, vote out the incumbent.
