of the Fall Brook Railroad, which was built in 1884, to facilitate commerce
between Seneca and Keuka Lakes. The railway was constructed on the towpath of
the Crooked Lake Canal, which was established in the early 1800's and was
destined for failure, due to its series of twenty-seven locks, over the six
mile span. Traces remain of the railroad, the canal and its locks, and many
of the water driven mills that used the power of the outlet from the 1790's
