Now Wrecked May 2017 photo What Happened While doing a lane change on wet pavement, I applied the brakes.  The car's excessive rear brake bias caused oversteer and loss of control.  I hit the guardrail, first on the front right corner, then bounced back and hit the rear right corner.  Fortunately no other cars got hit, and there were no injuries.  The car is totalled.  Not planning to have it fixed.

Comfort/convenience

Brackets to raise the front of each seat 1.5" This is the most important mod of them all.  Without this, the seats would be angled to dump you on the floor.

Longevity/reliability

Apply anti-seize to various underbody bolts  (e.g. exhaust, clamps for parking brake cable, heat shields, etc.). Swap some to stainless, if not strength-critical or on the exhaust.  Fairly modest number of things affected.
Prime/paint areas where the car was improperly lifted At the time of this picture, the only places this could have happened are the factory, delivery, or the dealer - it's one of these, but I'm not sure which one.

Add hose clamps for clutch fluid supply line For some reason, the factory didn't see fit to install such a thing.




Pushbutton clutch switch  (start engine while pressing this button instead of the clutch pedal; avoids putting a load on the engine's thrust bearing)

Rear speakers (MB Quart 2-way) Resistors added to dash tweeters to reduce excessive treble Prewiring for audio amps  (but never actually installed any amps; just made do with the stock unit)

Electrical

Courtesy lights These are controlled by the main dome‑light switch. From a normal position, the fixtures aren't visible.
Prewiring for cruise auto-power-on when car is started Prewiring for retained accessory power to also control radio and/or amps Prewiring for better balance of illumination brightness (boost the radio/HVAC lighting slightly, so it can still be legible while gauges are at dimmest level)
The above three "prewiring" items were done as preparation for circuitry that I was planning to put into a hidden electronics box near the glove compartment.  However, I never got around to building that.
