Get your required tools where green things grow. Maybe just stack a pile of flat rocks instead.360 day year.

12-30 day months.

That's absurd.

It's in the Bible, among other places. Lucky for us that we have trained, and trained some more, academics to calculate these things. You know the length of the year is 365 1/4 days. We are unaware of the huge difficulty and mathematical extrapolations that are required to determine this figure. No friggin' wonder these Bible idiots were wrong. I mean, for chris'sakes, they didn't even have calculators. If you gonna set out on one of these astronomical determinations, you gotta pack the heavy equipment, and maybe some cheese and a nice chianti.

Those Bible maroons only packed two sticks. Nope, not for chasin' off snakes and scorpions. That'd be their tools for measuring the length of the year. Don't have the picture yet, huh? Pay attention, hear. First drive the tall stick in the ground firmly. This stick could be 6 to 8 feet long. Drive it a couple of feet in the ground. Now, it is solidly anchored and won't move. Wait until about one hour before sunset and then right at the end of the shadow cast by the stick, drive in the second stake. This second need only be about 2 to 3 feet long. Now get your chalkboard and a comfy seat. Draw a mark on the chalkboard for each passing day one hour before sunset and keep observing the shadow cast by the big stick. Keep exact track of the days until the shadow cast by the big stick just touches the point on the ground where the little stick has been driven in. When it touches count your chalkboard marks and you will have the number of days in the year. Two sticks, you say? Works every time. Very complicated, gotta get two sticks. Anybody can do this. Like taking candy from the baby.

Must be a point to this. The old stories with 360 day years are correct and you only need two sticks toIf you've read this far, then you really need to know why many moon craters don't have lips, you know, same as chickens. That ol' black magic, "Velikowsky." have determined the length of a year. Now, find out why the year is now 365 1/4 days, but be a little suspicious of information supplied by people who need heavy equipment to figure out the length of the year. It is usually piled higher and deeper.
